Arguing With John

This guy has some severe anger issues.

But he's working on them.

Specially when it comes to you.

He gathers all his strength of will when he has arguments with you because he really doesn't want to snap.

He feels like he could never forgive himself if he did.

So, to avoid this, he literally leaves you standing there while he storms off.

He takes a walk for a little while until he has calmed down so that he can analyze the situation.

This also gives you some time to cool off as well so it's for the better.

When he finally comes back, he tries to talk with you about everything much more reasonably.

If he fucked up, he apologizes.

If you were the one who was in the wrong, he explains to you why he doesn't agree.

However, on those rare occasions where he gets a bit out of control during an argument, he feels absolutely terrible.

He fears that maybe you'll get tired of dealing with him.

He does a big effort to be a better version of himself for you.

He wants you to be proud of him.

Needless to say that he would never get physical with you. Ever.

He saves that side of him for others.

But his words can be very harsh.

He's still in the process of becoming a better person and he's glad to have you by his side because he knows how much you are helping him.

UnOrdinary x Talentless Nana AU Part 1

(You should watch Talentless Nana episode 1 before reading this, but you don’t have to)

-All children with abilities are sent to a boarding school once they reach high school age and are summoned. Wellston Boarding School is situated on an island and trained to one day fight “enemies of humanity” who showed up decades ago and caused millions of deaths

-John is an outcast due to the other students seeing him as weak. He tries his best to just live a normal life, but he occasionally gets harassed by bullies

-One day, the school attains two new students: Arlo, who is silent and apathetic, and Seraphina who is decently nice and cool. Arlo refuses to share his ability and Sera states hers is mind reading

-Sera gravitates towards John and the two spend some time together, with him showing her around. When they’re on the seaside cliff, Sera almost falls after the rope snaps, but John saves her

-The next day, the class starts talking about their eventual fight with the enemies of humanity, and decide they should have a group of leaders. Remi comes up with the Royal Hierarchy but is hesitant about it, but the rest of the kids go along with it. When they’re trying to nominate a King, Sera says they should choose John, which the others laugh off

-Later that day, John tells Sera off for throwing him out there. She asks if he’s scared to take a leader position due to his past and John blows up at her for reading his mind. She continues saying she understands what it’s like being under a lot of pressure but John leaves her

-The next day, Blyke and Isen are fighting over who gets to be King and the rest of the class is watching. The two get heated up, endangering the class in the process, and just when Sera is about to get hit by one of Blyke’s beams. John activates his ability to protect her. He can copy others abilities one at a time, first using Isen’s to tank the shot and then Blyke’s to stop the two

-The rest of the class is surprised at his talent, and Sera walks up to him, saying she knew he’d be a good leader

-Later the two meet up at the seaside cliff and talk about John’s ability. Sera asks if he can copy her ability and John says he isn’t sure since hers is a psychic one. He then states it might work if they touched each other, then realizing what he said, becomes flustered. Sera instead grabs his hand and asks if he can tell what she’s thinking. John tries hard but doesn’t pick up anything, before he fully states it though he feels a tug on his arm.

-In an instant, Sera pulls John over the edge and he barely has enough time to grab the rope. Sera then reveals she actually has no talent at all and just made use of what she found out about him in his files and what she observed to manipulate him. John wonders if she’s an enemy of humanity but Sera then responds that it’s actually the talented who are the true enemies

-With nothing else to say, Sera tells John to die and he eventually lets go of he rope, plunging into the sea surrounded by sharp rocks. Sera then looks at her phone, seeing “John Doe Estimated Kill Count: 10 million”

For character connections, Sera is Nana, John is Nanao, Arlo is Kyoya, and Evie is Michiru. Some of the characters abilities are adjusted to be stronger to better fit the “super power” theme. Also Rei and Remi are related in this AU, but they’re cousins instead. Ember and Spectre are also the same group now, with them keeping the name Ember and the overall government control, but having Spectre’s goal of weakening the talented

And for why Sera is saying she can read minds instead of her time ability, it’s simply because mind reading’s a lot more easy to fake and easier for me to write around

however he does like to avoid rejection

pre confession he would take her out to dinners and invite her to go shopping and pretend they were “dates”

Sera, of course, knew about this and thought it was cute so she played along

it didn’t last very long cause she confessed after she was sure of her feelings

Took John a whole week to recover from the shock of her just confessing out of blue like that

During that week he avoided her

which ultimately made her feel like she had misread his intentions and start to feel anxious

after that though he reassured he was just surprised and that he does love her

nothing besides their title really changed after that tbh

nobody even realized they were dating until they kissed in public

Depending on if this was during the cripple arc or after this could go two ways

[during] arlo would lecture Sera every chance he got

[during] he never bothered John about it though.

hes dumb but hes not that dumb

When Seraphina and Arlo don’t return, Elaine makes a rash decision, going to the last person she should, but the person that can protect Seraphina the most.

Too bad she should’ve asked him what his demand was before agreeing. Hades would have his Persephone, whether Seraphina liked it or not.

Why I don’t ship John x Sera

-okay so first they have a WONDERFUL friendship. Why mess with a good thing

-they haven’t shown any romantic interest in each other. Like NO episodes have ANY scenes or conversation hinting at a possible relationship

-I realllllyyyy want John to get a girlfriend. Like a nice, low-tier who admires John’s bravery. Someone for John to talk with, an equal. Someone that will unknowingly help John with his inner fight for control. (Bonus: jealous Sera)

-Sera and John’s relationship doesn’t really seem balanced to me. I feel that because Sera is such a powerful student, that influences how they treat each other. I don’t think that could ever truly go away (even with Sera’s recent ‘situation’). I also mentioned in the point above that a gf for John wouldn’t have this gaping divide.

-HEAR ME OUT. I honestly feel that Sera can be a bit oblivious when it comes to John, and anyone else but herself (AND IM NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT THE OBVIOUS REASON) Whenever we get a look into Sera’s perspective, it’s always, somehow, got to do with herself. Even while thinking about John, it’s about how she could be like him, how she can learn to be like him. She’s not a bad person, just is naturally self aware. I think this has something to do with her harsh upbringing. Even though it’s not her fault, I believe she will always be like this. In a romantic relationship, that would SUCK. (Also why I don’t ship anyone with Sera)

While my main ship is Revie, I got too attached to this bc of their potential dynamic and none of the canon ships get me— I know they never interacted and Gavin is supposed to be a one off villain but this is purely just my imagination bc I would love to see the contrast and explore a sorta mid tier redemption arc. I call them Gavie or Glowstone and I have a bunch of headcanons for them.

Gavin initially joined the Safe House just to cover his ass from John

People understandably hated him and Remi keeps him under high surveillance as she shoukd

Evie was the first one to welcome him in the Safe House and strike up a conversation with him

Gavin genuinely apologizing over time, making up for his mistakes and separating himself from Illena's group after realizing their harrassment towards the low tiers

Gavin standing up to Zeke after getting attached to the Safe House 🥺 (still getting kicked the shit out of tho)

Evie never had her ears pierced so Gavin attempted to pierce them for her.

Evie got Gavin to count to ten before he could loose his shit and fight anyone

Gavin once found a large knife in Evie's bag and she had to explain that she lives in a bad neighborhood and has to commute to and from school

He walks her to her house now bc of this

Gavin nicknames her ”Runt”

Seraphina and John are always giving him a murder look every time he’s with Evie in case he tries some shit—

Evie never ”fixes” him but it’s their friend group and sense of support and protection from the Safe House that drove him to be a better person

This was a gem in the minefield of unO ao3 back when it first came out. I love time travel fics, and I thought it was interesting because Blyke was the one going back and NOT John. I do know this is also the author's way to get the other charas to simp for Blyke LOL but it's genuinely very good so far!
